Q - What is the process and rules for posting a review?
A - To post a review you must first register with the site and agree to the review posting policy that we have in place.
 
Q - How does HomeProjectPros handle a dispute between a consumer and a company?
A - We do not get involved in any disputes that result from a disagreement between a consumer and a company in the directory. We do not endorse any company in the directory, hiring a company in the directory is at a consumers own risk. We suggest consumers do their homework before hiring anyone and try to give you the resources on this site to do that. However, if we receive multiple complaints about a company in our directory we will take them out of the directory at our discretion.
 
Q - Do you check references by the companies listed in your directory?
A - No. Companies in the directory agree to our vendor terms that they have all of their required licenses but we do not verify this information. Make sure that you check references and read consumer reviews if there are any posted on their profile.
 
Q - How does my company show up high on a user search?
A - There are two factors that determine search results ranking. Your company pulls back higher on a search the better your overall consumer review ranking is. When a user searches by zip code, the closer your store is to that user the higher you will display in the search results.
 
Q - What does it mean to be a Charter Member of HomeProjectPros?
A - Companies that sign up to the site in the first year of the site being launched to the public (2003) automatically become Charter Members and will retain this title as long as they are members. Charter Members will from time to time receive discounts and perks that other members do not.
 
Q - Why should I become a member of HomeProjectPros?
A - By listing your company profile in the HomeProjectPros directory you will be reaching thousands of local online consumers looking for your services. Consumers contact you directly which means you don't pay matching fees or pay a percentage of your earnings to us. You keep all of your proceeds from consumers that contact you from the information you provide on your profile.
 
Q - Can I dispute a bad review posted about my company by a consumer?
A - We have a very strict review posting policy that users of this site that write reviews must agree to, you can read our review posting policy by clicking on the Terms at the footer of every page of the website. In general, we do not get involved in any disputes and will not alter any review unless we discover that the review was written with false claims of having work done, when it wasn't.
 
Q - Is there an extra fee for making edits to my profile?
A - No, there are no hidden fees. You can make as many updates to your profile as you want, when you want. HomeProjectPros has made it simple for you to manage your company information. Take A Tour
 
Q - What is the "Request a Quote" link on the profile page?
A - At HomeProjectPros, we allow the homeowners to contact you directly. When a homeowner fills out the "Request a Quote" form from the profile, an e-mail is immediately sent to that companies e-mail address with that homeowners project information.
 
Q - How long do reviews show on my profile?
A - We will only display the last 10 reviews written about your company. If you have an unfavorable review written about your company, we suggest you offset that one review with favorable reviews until it drops out of site. Why do we do this? It wouldn't be fair to continue displaying reviews for a couple of years. We understand that companies may be giving better service now then what they did over a year ago.
 
Q - Can I ask my customers to go out to my profile and write a review?
A - Absolutely! we encourage you to ask your existing customers as well as customers that you have done work for to go out to your profile and select the "Write a Review" link that is found at the bottom of the page.
 
Q - Why are homeowners from outside of my area contacting me?
A - The homeowners search our directory and find you! We're not a matching service that will send the one homeowner request to many service professionals at the same time. The homeowner found your profile and chose to call or email you directly without us being the middle man. Simply let them know that they are not within your area.
 
Q - How do I get leads from HomeProjectPros?
A - Remember, the homeowner finds your profile and selects your company.
  • Homeowners search by category and zip code.
  • Homeowners decide to contact you based on your reviews and profile.
  • From a link on your profile, the homeowners fill out a "Request for Service" form.
  • Project details with the city, state and zip code will be sent to you via email.
  • If you accept the lead, you will receive all of the homeowners contact info and the homeowner will receive yours.
Q - How many leads can I expect?
A - HomeProjectPros advertises on some of the top search engines; Google, AOL, Earthlink and more. We are getting 100,000+ hits to our website every week and the traffic to our site just keeps getting better.
 
Q - How does a consumer find my profile?
A -
  • Go to the "Service Pros" tab above.
  • Select any of the service categories you placed your company in.
  •  
  • Select your State and you will see your company name in the directory, click on it and it will display your profile.
Q - When do I get billed for the leads I accept?
A - You will be billed only for the leads you accept. We charge the credit card we have on file at the time that the lead is accepted.
 
Q - How much do the leads cost?
A - The cost for each lead will be displayed on the lead e-mail you receive.
 
Q - Am I obligated to accept leads that are sent to me?
A - No, you are not obligated in any way to accept leads. Only accept the leads you want.
 
Q - Is the e-mail the only place I can view leads?
A - No, you can also log in to your account with HomeProjectPros. Once you log in, you can see new leads and leads that you've accepted.
 
Q - Do you require a credit card during the sign-up process?
A - No, you do not need a credit card to sign up. However, we will require a valid credit card on file when you accept your first lead.
 
Q - How much do the leads cost?
A - All leads are $5.00 per lead. It doesn't matter if the lead is for roofing, plumbing, painting or even house cleaning. All leads are $5.00 per lead.
